Arthur River is the name of a small township on the northern part of the West Coast of Tasmania, Australia. At the 2006 census, Arthur River and the surrounding area had a population of 121.
It is south of the town of Marrawah. Named after Sir George Arthur, Lieutenant Governor of Van Diemens Land (1824–36), the town draws its name from the river. The river is fed by several tributaries including the Frankland River, which was named after its discoverer, then the colony's surveyor-general. The region has been exploited commercially for timber and fisheries, but today is mostly a centre for tourism.
Rocky Cape National Park is full of surprises. You may only want to make a quick visit to the Rocky Cape lighthouse with its sweeping views, but there is much more to see if you take the time.
Before you know it you're finding out there's more to this park than meets the eye. Aboriginal heritage, ship wrecks, rock formations turned sideways, beautiful hills running down to the sea and an incredible variety of flowering plants. It makes the many corners of this small park worth closer inspection.

Cute cabins in perfect location. Despite the dated decor, everything worked just fine and was kitted out with all one needed. The spa bath always a highlight after a day's activities. Amazing what has been created by the owners over the years. An amazing place.
Jo and John are wonderful hosts, but not in your face. The cabin is gorgeous and the location is just beautiful. Our favourite Dog Friendly place in Tassie!!!
We enjoyed our stay, the cabin was clean and comfortable, the lake and fish were fantastic, paddle boat was great fun.
My two legged humans and I enjoyed our visit and I think the hosts really liked me, so we are coming back again. Kind regards, Fred (double doodle)
